San Marzano Pizza Sauce Recipe

I just was introduced to San Marzano tomatoes and love them. Even though we use fresh plum tomatoes often for making homemade sauce, this is a great taste alternative.

1 can San Marzano whole peeled tomatoes (Cento brand is what I used)
3 fresh leaves of  basil
2 teaspoons oregano
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
3 tablespoon sugar
2 cloves minced garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
pinch of cayenne pepper

Place the tomatoes in a food processor with all the herbs.
In a medium size sauce pan add the olive oil and mince garlic and saute for 1 minutes. Add the tomatoes herbs and cook for around 1/2 hour.

This is now ready to be used on your pizza dough to make your favorite
Italian pizza!  We loved the taste of this sauce for pizza. A very fresh tasting sauce.
