Italian Cheesy Garlic Parmesan Bread Recipe

Here is a wonderful medley of flavors in this cheese baked garlic bread almost like a herb baked hot bruschetta. You can leave this plain as is or decorate it up with lots of toppings!

1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon each fresh or dried herbs, oregano, basil, parsley, rosemary (fresh is best use as little or lots as you like)
4 cloves minced garlic
Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.

grating cheese
shredded blend of cheeses such as mozzarella, fontina, provolone, or anything you like
garlic powder

Baguette bread, French bread or favorite style stick bread

Slice bread into 1 or 2 inch thick slices. Brush with melted butter and herb mixture. Sprinkle with grating cheese evenly. Generously top with shredded cheese. Drizzle with olive oil.  Sprinkle with garlic powder is optional. Bake in a hot preheated oven on 430 degrees until cheese is melted and if you prefer browned. Serve immediately.

Other topping suggestions:
sliced tomatoes
cooked mushrooms
cooked meats such as sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, coldcuts of choice suggestions would be capicola or prosciutto
spinach or other greens seasoned with garlic and oil
Ricotta cheese and ham
cooked shrimp
ham and pineapple
